Maruishi News No.3 New License Agreement with Overseas Partners (26/12/2001)

Maruishi News briefing No.3 will introduce our renewed License Agreement for technical co-operation and new Agreement for sole agent with overseas partners.

1) Renew the Technical License Agreement with Bielomatik Leuze GmbH + Co, in Germany for Folio Sheeter.

In 1989, Maruishi signed the technical License Agreement with Bielomatik in Germany to manufacture Folio Sheeters in Japan. In December 2001, Maruishi and Bielomatik extended the Agreement by Mr. Gottlieb (Managing Director of Bielomatik) and Mr. Ishikawa (President of Maruishi) at Bielomatik in Germany. Also in 2000, Maruishi extended the License Agreement for Bielomatik High Speed Cut-Size Sheeter (7-12 pockets).

Under the License Agreement, Maruishi has already manufactured many high speed folio sheeters, including 20 units sold in Japan, 2 units to Korea and 1 unit to the U.S.A. The licensed Folio Sheeter has earned Maruishi very good reputation in the pulp and paper industry.

In addition, new compact sheeter models are just introduced in the market, with features of high speed non-reject system at pile change and short machine length.

Maruishi has officially reached an agreement with Function Control Research BV (Netherlands) to be the sole agent forl two kinds of machines from Function Control Research BV. These machines, called Sheet Counting System, can automatically count the number of the sheets discharged from sheeter. At the same time, this machine can equip a laser making on reams.

1. Sheet counting machine with camera /computer system
With the camera and computer control systems, this machine can automatically count the number of the sheets of the skid. Which comes from sheeter. Its unique advantages are accurate counting without touching sheets, high speed and fully automatic operation (60 skids/hr).

2. High speed laser type ream marking system --- the first innovation in the world.
After sheet counting, laser system applies high speed ream marking by registered number of reams (10-1000 papers). This laser marking system replaces conventional tape marking, which greatly simplifies the sheeter operation. Moreover, it can help end users to eliminate those problems arising from traditional tape marking. Exact sheet counting system also avoids extra sheets in reams/skids.

Maruishi recently visited one paper mill in Europe where the first such machine is installed. Then, starting from February in 2001, Maruishi will exclusively sell these machines in Japan and Southeast Asian market. Part of this machine will be manufactured at Maruishi workshop and will be integrated with imported parts from Function Control Research BV. Operation capacity is 60 skid/hr.
