1. 8th Paper Technology Seminar -Japan TAPPI

Maruishi participated and presented its innovative new technology of finishing machines at The 8th Paper Technology Seminar sponsored by Japan TAPPI Sept. 2-3, 2002. With the theme of [The Latest Finishing Equipment Technology], Maruishi design engineers, Mr. Shirokane gave a presentation entitled "<Optima> Newly-developed Multiplex Roll Wrapping System" and Mr. Matsunaga introduced " Maruishi-Bielomatik The Newest Technology of Folio Sheeter".

Maruishi has already delivered twenty-three (23) sets of Folio Sheeter since Maruishi signed the license agreement with Bielomatik/Germany in 1989. Here are the highlights of Maruishi-Bielomatik Folio Sheeter.

• Unreel Stand

  The recent trend of unreel stand is total automation. Fully automatic roll-catching operation can effectively reduce time and labor for roll changes while fully automatic operation can be realized when Unreel Stand is combined with roll tuning device for reliable roll catching---an automatic device or called Auto Splicer for managing re-winded paper tube. As new unreel stand system, there is a tension control with roll diameter calculation system. Load cell is not necessary. Meanwhile, instead of the old-fashioned break control by pneumatic disc pad break, Maruishi introduced a new break control system by AC servomotor. This new break system has many advantages compared with previous pneumatic system.

• Slitter

  Maruishi has two slitter types: One is single slitter and the other is twin slitter. Also, there are plate type and bowl type of the cutting edge. The newest slitter device uses plate type for both top and bottom and Maruishi manufactures slitter device with all cutting edge driven by individual AC Servo motor. For cutting higher basis-weight paper, Maruishi recommends twin slitters according to our delivery experiences.

• Cross Cutter

  Cross Cutter unit has two different types: One is VGL type and the other is DD type.
  Both cutters are put together and form new DD type.
  Using 126 kw AC synchro-motor, it runs at max. speed 400m/min and theoretical speed is also improved dramatically.

• Non- reject System

  At single overlap machine, this device can help to change stacks without sheet rejects. With such device, more stable and efficient production can be attained without damaging sheets.

• Pallet Robot
  

  Pallet Robot is an automatic pallet transporting system that can move back/forward, up/down, and right/left with palletized products. The robot can change its moving directions by 180 ‹turning mechanism. Without conveyors, it can move freely to transport all kinds of palletized products within limited area.

• Electric control system

  Maruishi has increasingly adpoted the latest technology in its electric control systems, such as IPC (Personal Computer for Industry), center control, control network with open bass system, data management and diagnosis by BSS (Bielomatik Service Station), analog less drive control etc. that create a more reliable total control network. Maruishi has developed these hi-tech electric control systems by itself so that Maruishi can always guarantee the tailor-made optimization of our machine performances.
