Devastating Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami Hit Japan

On March 11, 2011, the unprecedented Tohoku Ocean 9-magnitude earthquake and tsunami mercilessly smashed Japan northeast Honshu areas into ruins, and caused hundreds of thousands of innocent lives and shattered homes. It is no doubt one of the worst natural disasters in the human history.

However, natural catastrophes can destroy our belongings, but not our will. Our hearts and prayers stay with those victims inflicted by the horrible disaster on March 11, 2011 and we wish them a complete quick recovery for their homeland.

In the meantime, hundreds of friendly phone calls and emails from around the world poured in Maruishi head office, anxious about Maruishi current status with the earthquake.

Maruishi is grateful to these sincere concerns that all Maruishi belongings and employees are safe from any injury or damage, thanks to our earthquake-preventive buildings and installations. Fuji city also had no damage.

In addition, the explosions and radiations at the Fukushima nuclear plant also have no influence to Maruishi since Maruishi is over 300km far away from the troubled plant. The planned blackout from TEPCO used to be 1.5-2 hours, now the normal power supply is restored with the decreasing impact of earthquake.

With good transportation and distribution networks, Japan is resilient to cope with natural disasters like earthquakes. Within these recent days, everything basically comes back to normal except those most hard-hit areas.

Maruishi will fulfill our obligations to customers around the world, for machine deliveries, services and co-operations as ever before, with more confidence and effort, despite the recent earthquakes in Japan.

Thank you again for your concerns to Maruishi!
